AKIN sits and eats with Andrea and Bernice Navarrete, as they make one of their favorite childhood dish flautas.


  1. boil through chicken with onions and garlic

  2. after chicken cooked through, shred the chicken

  3. heat tortilla so they will not crumble when rolling

  4. roll chicken in tortilla

  5. stick toothpicks into roll to keep from breaking apart when frying

  6. fry about 10 minutes on one both sides

  7. top with shredded lettuce, Mexican Cotija Cheese & Mexican Sour Cream
